Forgetfulness Of Purpose • 1

Naturally I had purposes and reflected on my purposes for as long as I can remember but I don’t think I thought about the concept of purpose in a systematic way until I began taking courses on cybernetics and systems theory in college.  So I’ll try beginning this anamnesis with the readings that stick in my memory from those times.

    Jon,

I’m interested in the essentiality of purpose on diagrams, and especially the effect of re-purposing on them. Perhaps you’ll veer off in that direction, and I see I can follow you here.

    Thanks,
    Tom

I am of course always looking at intelligent systems with a Peircean Eye — that would be the Third One, you know — but I can’t foresee at present how soon I can layer in the traces of what shows up in that perspective.
