Read your comments on Dick Lipton’s blog. “Inquiry into inquiry” has some overlap with Bernard Lonergan’s hermeneutics and I wondered if you knew about his work? In any case, I now have some assurance that a study of Peirce might prove beneficial!
No, I don’t recall reading Lonergan. I read more widely in the hermeneutics literature all through the 1990s but I have been hewing more closely to Peirce’s semiotics since then.

Do you have some examples (simple examples, using common sense) about Peirce’s theory of information? I’ve been reading your work but maybe other examples explaining the relation between the essential breadth and essential depth will be helpful. It will help with my research!

As it happens, I have just returned to my study of Peirce’s early work on information theory, as presented in his Harvard and Lowell lectures of 1865–1866. Peirce begins his analysis of information with some of the most concrete, simple, and common sense examples that we will ever see again from him, so maybe a study of those will help.
